Murray Custom Homes is now hiring a Site Assistant. This position will maintain a schedule of 25-30 hours per week during the winter months and up to 40 hours per week during the spring, summer, and fall months.
The Site Assistant works closely with the Murray team to provide support in the construction of our custom homes division. Handyman skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities are musts. This position reports directly to the Site Supervisor of Murray Custom Homes, Roofing, & Restoration.
The primary responsibility of the Site Assistant is to perform a variety of maintenance, repairs, and installation tasks for multiple custom homes. This could include, but is not limited to:
Perform routine site clean-up on the grounds
Repair, fill, and paint any gaps or crevices
Perform light installation or carpentry (e.g. cabinet hardware, etc.)
Use a variety of hand and power tools without supervision
Install hardware such as cabinet handles and door handles
Haul equipment and materials to various job sites
Clean facilities as needed
Perform punch list items to get homes ready for final walkthrough, cleaning, and client move in
Ensure equipment and appliances are in working order and fixed as necessary
Maintain the cleanliness of job sites (interior & exterior)
Identify, inspect, and resolve any errors, mistakes, or issues encountered on job sites
Identify and report the need for major repairs to the Site Supervisor in a timely manner
Support other job site and company-related tasks as needed
Snow removal at job sites during the week as needed
Proven experience doing handyman projects
Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
Valid driver’s license
Accountable and reliable
Well-organized, problem-solver with high level of attention to detail
High school diploma or equivalent
Physical ability to remain standing during shift, reach overhead, bend, twist, kneel or squat, and lift materials/equipment
Bonus points if you have your own power tools and aren’t afraid of heights
Attend daily stand-up meetings to plan/prioritize tasks for the day
Regularly visit job sites to ensure all tasks are completed
Review, respond, and update tasks and assignments in project management system
Maintain a regular presence in office for meaningful collaboration with team
Murray Custom Homes, also home to Murray Roofing and Murray Restoration, is a well-established construction company that is continuing to grow! We are currently looking for a full-time Project Manager who is responsible for the overall project planning and scheduling of residential construction projects. The Project Manager responsibilities span a broad spectrum covering all areas of project management – project planning, cost management, time management, client coordination, and quality management.
Responsibilities could include, but not limited to:
Oversee the construction project from start to finish.
Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.
Responsible for the construction project delivery, working with others and achieving a successful outcome of the projects.
Good communication skills, as you will be in constant communication, both written and verbal, with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and fellow employees.
Develop estimates and bids accurately.
Work well under pressure.
Monitor all costs on the project to insure accuracy and staying within budget.
Forecast project costs and make adjustments to insure job stays within budget.
Process pay requests.
Resolve conflicts as it related to the personnel and construction documents.
Promote a safe working environment.
Develop and nurture long-term relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Ensure that construction activities move according to predetermined schedule
Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project
Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the sub-teams
Periodic inspection of construction sites
